The goal of this course is to provide the audience
with basics on Group Representation Theory, with a particular emphasis on Character Theory of Finite Groups (including some basic classes of groups such as symmetric groups, alternating groups, finite general linear groups of degree 2, etc.)
Textbook:
Character Theory of Finite Groups, by I. M. Isaacs
Prerequisites:
Some acquaintance with abstract algebra (say first semester of Abstract Algebra for graduate students, or Math 451 for undergraduate students).
